Usually, this is how I spend my time:

My Weekly Schedule
My Weekly Schedule

In fact, this is how every week in the calendar looks like to me. Altogether, I spend most of my time on work and the rest of it on family and exercise. When time allows, I get my personal space.

Work (Blue)

In my job, work can be separated into two categories – meetings, and administrative. On the whole, I spend 60% to 70% of the time hosting meetings and discussions with clients. The remaining time is spent on administrative work such as claims, and record keeping.

P.S. I keep a meticulous record of everything. Hence, data entry never ends!

Family (Yellow)

Due to my irregular and hectic schedule, family time is only possible on weekends. To me, this period of time is non-negotiable.

Exercise (Green)

Lack of activity destroys the good condition of every human being, while movement and methodical physical exercise save it and preserve it. – Plato

As I grow older, energy level decreases. In detail, gone were the days when I can study all night and sit for an exam the next morning. Even with a well-brewed coffee, I struggle to survive the day.

Fortunately, there is a natural remedy to my problem – exercise. At some point, exercise replaces the amount of sleep that I need to survive for the day. To this end, I no longer depend on coffee ☕️.

Personal (Purple)

If there is any spare time in the week, then it shall be my personal time. Be that as it may, it doesn’t happen often enough.

During my free time, I read a lot. Specifically, I love reading books that educates me, e.g. financial skills, or personal development.

Reflection on how I spend my time

All in all, I believe that I can do more to achieve a work-life balance. On the other hand, I like what I do at work. Therefore, maybe work is not work anymore.

If you do what you love, you’ll never work a day in your life. – Marc Anthony
